“ T he Story of Salvation” …. [Part 1 of 2]
Salvation History begins with God’s Desire to be Known, appreciated and loved. So God Created the Angels; who like God are Spiritual entities, far superior to us in intellect and powers. ….Then for Reason ONLY God can know, He created the Universe that we exist in. Still not satisfied, perhaps because of the Rebellion within the ranks of Angels, some who were not satisfied with being “perfect”; they desired to actually “be God.” Sin [disobedience to the Will of God] was now introduced, and Satan became a reality along with Hell, a competitor to God and an alternative to Heaven.
“Before the earth was, the angels were all ready created Where were thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? (Job 38:1,4,7) Declare if thou has understanding.
“They were created to glorify Christ.”
“Angels were created by a special act of God, they did not evolve. Praise ye him all his angels, praise ye him all his hosts(angels) Let them praise the name of the Lord, for he commanded and they were created. (Psalml48:2,5).
Their number was fixed at creation. They neither reproduce or die. Jesus talking about the resurrection said: For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. (Mathew22:30) Neither can they die anymore: for they are equal unto the angels.”
The relevance of the “Story of salvation” lies in the fact that it is a war in progress. The combatants are God, Good and Us, verses Satan, his minions and Evil. There is no-one and no-place that is “off-limits.” Indeed, the closer we are to Christ; the CLOSER Satan is to us. “…Naturally the final goal for our adversary is to STEAL our soul.” Satan will lie, cheat, be devious and sneaky and strike when we are most vulnerable. “He offer you what “is his” in order to ROB you of what is Gods.” BUT Satan can only win, just as God can only win; if we choose it, we agree to it.
The First Battle was Gods Good Angels verses Satan and his evil empire. …. Satan LOST! The Second battle took place in the Garden of Eden. A PERFECT place with no needs or wants; and yet Satan convinced Adam and Eve, that they could get more and do more. Satan WON! With the score tied, God permits Satan to “have at us” in order that we may FREELY choose God and Good, or Evil and Satan. Only by free choice is our Love made more perfect. And ONLY by free choice will God be satisfied that He permitted us to decide for ourselves where we will spend Eternity.
Pushing Satan’s anger is the nefarious reality of a time limit set by God. Satan like us is aware of it, but like us, does not know when. This adds wind to his sail and motive to his agenda.
Perhaps that is why, at least in part, why God decided to Create humanity through Adam and Eve? To give another opportunity to His Created to freely choose to Know, Love, Obey and Serve God; or like the fallen angels, to freely choose not to. Again we see God’s original plan was for a “perfect” being. Like the Angels, Adam and Eve were Blessed and gifted in ways and to degrees that we are not. And the cause of their fall too, was to attain the ONE THING they lacked. “Being God Himself.” Could it be that God’s JUSTICE required of Him to have at least a possibility for Satan to further deny, further reject God, and that this was a consideration for humanity? That God set up for Himself and “eternal battle” for souls in anticipation of a Messiah? A pass or FLUNK test?
From the Bibles First Book: Genesis 26 -30 [D.R. Bible] “And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that move upon the earth. And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them. And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth. And God said: Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed upon the earth, and all trees that have in themselves seed of their own kind, to be your meat: And to all beasts of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to all that move upon the earth, and wherein there is life, that they may have to feed upon. And it was so done.”
One should NOT overlook the significance of the THREE failings. First the “bad” Angels, then Adam and Eve, and then Fallen humanity. We are to recognize the Triune Nature of God and how sin displeases God [in totality], in ways beyond our comprehension.
Notice also that in the Creation of humanity God’s original plan was that we not eat meat. This becomes an issue later on.
It occurs to me, that we are Created “in the image” of God both as God is “Spirit” and in anticipation of God’s future humanity. The idea of an All-Knowing, All-Wise God becomes evident in this light.
After the Creation and the FALL of Adam and Eve to Satan, enthralled by his victory, and once again in his glory, now with even a more voracious appetite, Satan seeks VENGEANCE upon God to whom he [Satan] lost everything of importance. Satan prowls, the entire world, seeking more victories for himself and at the same time, heaping greater humiliations upon God. No human person will escape being tempted and tested, time and time again, until God calls us to the grave. The Good Angels had been tested and PASSED their test, so Satan now makes his focus the souls of humanity; and in particular those who are priest, and religious and those like us, striving to be in a proper relationship with our God. The closer we grow to Christ; the closer Satan draws near to us and targets us who too, are a sort of reflection of God Himself. Able to choose good, but also freely enabled to do evil.
It would seem that right after the fall of Adam and Eve, that Satan gained the upper hand. The “whole world seemed to go to hell in a short time span.” So much so that God regretted having Created humanity and vowed to do away with all the flesh things, including humanity, that He had created on planet earth. What is God thinking in current times? MILLIONS of abortions each year, marriage which God raised to a Sacrament is in danger from the number of Divorced, as well as the push for “same sex unions,” under the banner of a “marriage.” More couples are “living together than are “married.”? Perhaps there has NEVER been a better time to be close to Christ? Vengeance is mine say’s the Lord.” Duet. 32:35 “35] Vengeance is mine, and recompense, for the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and their doom comes swiftly.”
Genesis 6: 6-19 “And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. … Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch. … For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall die. … But I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. … Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.
Gen. 8 & 9: 18-22, 1-4 “So Noah went forth, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. And every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves upon the earth, went forth by families out of the ark. Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And when the LORD smelled the pleasing odor, the LORD said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. [The same thing He had done and said to Adam and Eve.]… The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea; into your hand they are delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. [Life flesh].
Many profound lessons are shared in this historical account.
1. It is made clear and evident that God, right from the start will tolerate only One God, and Only One, [HIS own] set of Faith beliefs [Now divinely taught by Christ CC.
2. God not only demands Obedience, BUT SEEKS it out and rewards Obedience
3. Obviously God permits evil, and allows Satan to do MUCH in tempting souls away from Him.
4. Just as “Good /Obedience” has its reward, so too disobedience has it’s own price to pay. Good is rewarded and evil is punished.
5. Evident also are God’s Covenant relationship with us that SHOUTS God’s desire to be in a very personal relationship with us.
“The oldest religions for which we have good records are those of the Near East, especially, the Egyptians, Assyrians, and Babylonians. The Pyramid Texts, carved on the walls and rooms of Egyptian pyramids, tell us much. They date from about 2800 B.C. These peoples all were polytheists, that is, they believed in many gods. However, many anthropologists tell us that the most primitive peoples we know about, seem to have worshipped only one God, and many of them called Him Sky Father. It is likely that our whole race was similar at the start, after the fall of Adam and Eve.” [It seems plausible that this One God, and One Faith are intrinsic to our human nature.]
The next Big step in God’s plan is Abram, later to be called Abraham.
Genesis 12: 31 “Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sar’ai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chalde’ans to go into the land of Canaan; but when they came to Haran, they settled there.
Abraham the Father of All Believers
“ Abram, later called Abraham, came from Ur, near the north end of the Persian Gulf. His father Terah moved the family north to Haran (Genesis 11:25-31). When did the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob live?, Educated guesses run from about 2000 to 1700 B.C.
When Abram was 75 years old, God told him to move to Canaan. He did that with His wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and their followers (Genesis 12:4). In chapter 15 of Genesis we read that God promised Abram his descendants would be as numerous as the stars of the sky. Abraham believed God. The faith made Abram righteous: he became in the right with God, he received what we call sanctifying grace.” The concept of “Justification” is introduced.
“Justification” becomes the needed element, and remains the underlying foundation for salvation even until the ends of time. Justification right from it’s start had precise requirements. Among them being.
1. A knowledge and acceptance of Only One God and Only The Faith beliefs that He taught; or that he led others to teach on His behalf. Today that “teaching authority” in HIS CC. …. Matthew 28:16-20 “Now the eleven disciples [Apostles] went to Galilee , to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” …. John 20:21 “Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” …. This means: In and WITH My [Godly] Powers and in and WITH My Authority.”…. “But some doubted.” is a reference NOT in Our Lords Teaching BUT in this person actually being Christ. This was shortly after the Resurrection.”
2. Be in a personal relationship with God. Which requires Knowing of God, Knowing God’s Will, and teachings and the commandments and covenants, and Complete Obedience to them and proper and frequent use of His Seven Sacraments. In other words; God INSIST on being in charge even though He permits us to pretend that we are.
As the God-humanity relationship moves forward, so does humanities degree of understanding, and thus the Judgment of God becomes more critical and more demanding. The more graces God gives, and the more we accept, the more critical shall be God’s judgment on us, as we become more accountable for our own actions and lives decisions. Matthew 25: 27-29 “Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents. … For to every one who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” The more grace that we accept, the more the amount and types of grace are, that will be offered to us to aid us.
After Abraham there are a great many important people and events. …. Some generations were faithful and faithfully rewarded, while others brought into Satan’s lies, and paid the price of there obstinacy, and the denial of God’s offered Grace.
Genesis 22: 2-12 SUMMARIZES the relationship between God and Abraham that we are to emulate, with God’s grace.
2- 12 “ He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Mori’ah, and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac; and he cut the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off. Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the ass; I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.” And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together. And Isaac said to his father Abraham, “My father!” And he said, “Here am I, my son.” He said, “Behold, the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” Abraham said, “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they went both of them together. When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. Then Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here am I.” He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”
Because Abraham is our Father In Faith. He is The Old Testament “role model” God’s sets before us. One must look carefully and earnestly for the lessons that God desires us to understand, and seek God’s active assistance.
One will be greatly challenged to find a better, a fuller example of Faith believed and lived in the Old Testament…. Clearly God does NOT intend for us to understand everything He says, does or commands. BUT GOD ALWAYS expects our Faith-filled acceptance of it, simply because he is OUR God.
The time up to Moses is filled with stories of Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. A series of life lessons are presented and the Nation is led to further and deeper understanding of God’s DEMAND for Only One God and one set of faith Beliefs. This then leads up to Moses. In the intervening years there has been good and bad. The Good rewarded and the evil punished. Now the “Chosen Nation” due to their disobedience are under captivity of the Egyptians, and seeking “salvation”; not spiritual so much as physical. … and this leads to the foretelling of a Messiah. A SAVIOR.
The background to God’s selection of Moses is key to understanding God’s ‘Divine Providence.” This referees to God being ever present to us, and, whether we are aware of it or not, His being always in charge. Divine Providence makes the issues of “luck,” coincidence, and happenstance completely invalid and VOID! Divine providence saved the infant Moses of Declared Murder of all Jewish male babies, as the nation was getting close to over-populating the Egyptians.
It was NOT “luck” that the Mother of Moses tried to save Him by hiding him in a basket, then having the Queen of Egypt herself find him as she came to bath in the Nile. Even the fact that the Queen choose Moses actual mother [without knowing it] to breast-feed and raise him was ordained by God.
Gen. 3:4-5, 6-10 .. “When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, [the burning bush] God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here am I.” … Then he said, “Do not come near; put off your shoes from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” ‘And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. Then the LORD said, “I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; I know their sufferings, …Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring forth my people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” …. Moses asks What should I answer when they ask me who YOU are? …
Next Part 2 of 2
Part 2 of 2
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, `I AM has sent me to you.'” .. God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel, `The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you’: this is my name for ever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.”
All of us are aware of the plagues inflicted By God who “hardened the heart of Pharaoh,” then the final Plague of death to all “first born”, the institution of the “Passover”, …. All precisely Ordered and Directed by God Himself. God would grant there desire for a physical salvation that would be conditional on future- FAITH and Obedience. The blood of the “innocent [unblemished-perfect] MALE Lamb, was to be placed on the doors so the Angel of DEATH would “pass-over” and save them. Then the crossing of the RED Sea, and the 40 year trek in the desert as a result of their unbelief in God’s Power and Might DESPITE all that “I AM” had just accomplished for them. … God had directed Moses to Scout ahead the “Promised land”. The reports came back that it was TRULY a land of “milk and honey” But that the inhabitants were GIANTS and could not be defeated. They scouted for “40 days” and Yahweh PUNISHED their lack of FAITH by “one year in the desert for each day.” Further, NOT ONE person alive at this time would live to see the promised Land. [Moses excluded.] Everyone else died off during the forty years in the desert.
The Prophesies of the Messiah
“The Messiah in Prophecy
At this point let us say something about the marvelous sweep of our Father’s plans, and the prophecies over the whole time of the Old Testament. We are going to get help from some ancient Jewish documents called Targums, to understand the prophecies. These were old Aramaic translations of the Scriptures, which were free in their language, and filled in interpretations to show how to understand the prophecies. We know the Jews saw these things without seeing them fulfilled in Christ, for they rejected Him. We know that after the fall of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. the Jews lost interest in the Messiah until about 500 A.D. Even then they did not speak of most of the ancient prophecies, only that he should be of the line of David. So we can be sure these Targum interpretations were very early, before 70 AD, for they could not have been written in the centuries when the Jews no longer cared to speak of the Messiah. Yet the Targums saw the Messiah in very many places in the Old Testament.
Here are the chief ones. Right after the fall of Adam and Eve, God promised (Genesis 3:15): “I will put enmity between you [the serpent] and the woman, between your offspring and hers. He will strike at your head, you will strike at his heel.” The Targum saw this was in a way Messianic, and said it involved a victory for the sons of the woman. Today the Church (cf. LG # 55) with the help of fuller light from the Holy Spirit, sees Our Lady, the Mother of the Redeemer, and her Son in this text.
When the Jews were near to the promised land after their long wandering, the King of Moab hired a pagan prophet, Balaam, (Numbers 22-24) to curse the Jews. But Balaam, moved by God, could not curse them, instead he blessed them, and foretold that a star would arise out of Jacob. The Targums know this was the Messiah. Centuries later, sometime before 700 B.C., the great Prophet Isaiah in 9:5-6 spoke of a child, whom the Targums said was the Messiah: “A child is born to us, a son is given to us, the government is upon his shoulder. His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, God the Mighty, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”
Now since the large passage of Isaiah 7:1 through 12:6 is called and is, the Book of Emmanuel, it is clear that the child of Isaiah 7.14 is also the Messiah: “Behold the Virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” The Targums as they are today do not make this line messianic. But we know that the great teacher Hillel of the time of Christ did say it talked about the Messiah. We know that later [in Anno Domoni times; after the DEATH of Jesus] … Jews stopped calling it Messianic, to try to oppose the Christian use of the text.”
Once again God makes exceedingly clear His Teaching of one God and One set of Faith beliefs ONLY. Exo. 20: 1-4 “And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;” ONE GOD and One set of Beliefs! Then Yahweh issues through Moses the Ten Commandments. Building the very ROCK foundation of our Faith.
And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before me.”
“You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; “Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day”
“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. “
4. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
5. “You shall not kill. “
6. “You shall not commit adultery”.
7. “You shall not steal”.
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
9. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; or property”
10.“you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or anything that is your neighbors.”
Chapters 20,21,22, and 23 ALL pertain to the Commandments AND covenants given by and REQUIRED by God. The “ten Commandments” are ONLY categories of sin; not intended as a comprehensive list of all “possible sin.” … Luke.1: 6 “And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. .. Rev.14: 12 “Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus … 2Thes.1: 8 “inflicting vengeance upon those who do not know God and upon those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. Heb.13:17 “Obey your leaders and submit to them; for they are keeping watch over your souls, as men who will have to give account. Let them do this joyfully, and not sadly, for that would be of no advantage to you”
Next follows the unfolding the Mystery of God’s plan and God’s love of humanity. GOD NEVER GIVES UP ON US! Through the periods of “the Judges,” the “Kings”, and the “Prophets“…. God’s patience seems endless [don’t be deceived; it’s NOT!] God continues to lead, and to grant yet another and another opportunity, and to provide with a “Father’s TOUGH Love” what is best and necessary for the Jewish Nation and for us.
God’s Time for the Messiah is now at hand. The “stage” is set. Once again the Hebrew Nation is in Captivity. Once again there is a need for a Physical savior, and even though MANY are unaware, even more for a Spiritual Savior.
“ Promise Made; and Promise Kept”
Isaiah 7:14: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
Matthew 1:22-23: All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’–which means, ‘God with us.’
Micah 5:2: But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.
Matthew 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem.
Luke 1: 12-17 THE BIRTH OF JOHN the Baptist: The LAST PROPHET of the Old Testament, and the one who makes ready the way of the Lord.. “And Zechari’ah was troubled when he saw him, [The Angel sent by God] and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechari’ah, for your prayer is heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth; for he will be great before the Lord, and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. [John was Baptized in Blood and Desire] And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God, and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah
God’s desire, by a WIDE margin, must exceed our own, no matter how fervent is our love, and our own desire to participate in God’s GLORY. … For GOD to consider for a time “becoming a little less [lower in stature] than His Angels;” to assume the limitations of humanity and its fragility; is an incomprehensible Mystery, which can be accepted ONLY on Faith, which is a PURE GIFT from God…..and then, Only through the reflected light of Love does any of this come close to making sense.
To be born to a Virgin as prophesied by Isaiah, is one thing. To desire to be born in a Cave [a barn and stable], and placed in a “manger” [a cereal bowl for animals], from the poorest of the poor “peasant -parents”, then be required to move in-order to preserve The Baby Jesus life, shortly after birth, leaving what little “they had” to secure His life, in a HEATHEN Country; [Egypt], the very country that God led the Jewish Nation out of under Moses, raises the level of complexity, the level of DESIRE by God to be in a personal relationship with us to a level of bewilderment. SUCH IS GOD’S LOVE FOR HUMANITY. And the reason, the moral lesson [of Christ life] is for ALL to comprehend the absolute need for humility that is required by us, in order to know, and to accept what God WANTS; what God WILLS, for our salvation. + “Not My Will But THY Will be done Father.”+
Luke 1:26-35 “In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And he came to her and said, “Hail, O favored Full of Grace, the Lord is with you!” But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High;
and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”…. And Mary said to the angel, “How shall this be, since I have no husband?”
And the angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.!
Luke 1: 36-43 And Mary visits her cousins; the parents of John the Baptist. “And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. [Because of Advanced age , far beyond child bearing age] For with God nothing will be impossible.” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah, and she entered the house of Zechari’ah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
“ Joy to the World, your Savior has come!”
Luke 2:8-20 “And in that region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them, “Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; ……
for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased!” When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they saw it they made known the saying which had been told them concerning this child; and all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.”
This then becomes the First page of the FINAL Chapter on the History of your salvation. Now each of us must write for ourselves, how our personal “salvation History” book ends.
Here are some hints; some key’s that are available IF you seek them?
1. All access to heaven now is channeled through the Only Church founded by Christ. Jesus came to earth to actually BE “The Way; and the TRUTH [singular], and the Life.” if you allow it… And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
2. Trying to attain heaven outside of Christ Catholic Church is like trying to paddle up stream without paddles. It MIGHT be possible, but there is a far more obvious, evident and easier way, that Christ Himself points too.
3. Jesus Himself Instituted the seven Sacraments [fountains of HIDDEN Grace that We control the flow of]…. not simply to make salvation possible; but to actually increase the odds to Probable! Only in Christ Church can one find the Sacrament of KNOWN forgives of sins and be assisted personally by Jesus Christ Himself in the Most holy Eucharist.
4. Do not die with unforgiving Mortal sin.
5. Nowhere has God ever tolerated or desired more than His one set of Faith beliefs. Religions founded by mortal men, cannot compete with that founded by God Himself. Pray for the courage and wisdom needed to “get over yourself.” God can’t take charge if you don’t permit it.
So friends we, you and me, are the authors of the final chapter of our Salvation history. How are you going to write your’s?
May God grant each of the HUMILITY to beg God for True Faith, True Wisdom and Understanding; knowing that ONLY by doing so, can we attain with God’s accepted GRACE, our own salvation.
Eph. 4: 1-7 “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all lowliness and meekness, with patience, forbearing one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body [WHICH MEANS ONE CHURCH] and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, one Lord, one faith, [Meaning only One set of beliefs] one baptism,
one God and Father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
Eph. 2: 18-22 “ for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, [SINGULAR] built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord;”
John.10: 16 “And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd”
We, you and me are the Final Battle. The stakes are Eternal. …God’s wins in the End; Victory for HIM is assured. But for us, we MUST decide and pay now or pay later. Gods Catholic Church and the Seven Sacraments are our shield and our sword.
God Bless, …. Pat
