On my Way to Galilee… To meet Jesus
Matt.26: 32 “But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.”

The Significance of Galilee

Luke.1: 26 “In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin named MARY.

Luke.2: 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, [39] And when they had performed everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.

Matt.2: 22 But when he heard that Archelaus reigned over Judea in place of his father Herod, he [Joseph] was as afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee. “

Matt.4: 12 “Now when he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee; [18] As he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. [23] And he went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people. [25] And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decap’olis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan.”

John.1: “43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. And he found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”

John.2: 1“On the third day there was a marriage at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; [11] This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

Matt.21: 11 And the crowds said, “This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth of Galilee.”

Mark 1: 9-13 “Those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when he [Jesus] came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased.” The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.

Matt.17: 22 “As they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men, “

Matt.27: 55 “There were also many women there, looking on from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him;”

Mark.14: 28 “But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.”

Matt.28: 7 “Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Lo, I have told you.” [10] Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.” [16] Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.

Mark.16: 7 “ But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you.”

John.21: 1-16 “ After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tibe’ri-as; and he revealed himself in this way. [NOTE: this is ALSO KNOWN AS THE SEA OF GALILEE] and it’s very near Nazareth …PJM ] Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathan’a-el of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zeb’edee, and two others of his disciples were together. Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat; but that night they caught nothing. Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any fish?” They answered him, “No.” He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, for the quantity of fish.. That disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his clothes, for he was stripped for work, and sprang into the sea. But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off. When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish lying on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; and although there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead. When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” A second time he said to him, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.

“Dr. Stephen Ray, in his beautiful talk on the Gospel of John says (paraphrased):

“At the end of time, Peter the Pope, the Fisher of Men, will single handedly drag the net of the Church upon the shore of eternity and place the catch at Jesus feet. Then they will share the marriage supper of the lamb which Jesus will prepare, perhaps even over a charcoal fire, who knows. But notice that Peter has one net, not two nets, or 33,000 nets but one net, and that the net was not torn. The Greek word for tear is scism. At the end of time there will be one Church, without tear and Peter the Pope will drag it full of the catch and place it at Jesus feet at the end of time. I want to be in the net.” End-QUOTE: CAF Post

Acts.1: 11”and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Acts.9: 31 “ So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Sama’ria had peace and was built up; and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit it was multiplied.”

The significance of Galilee is of Prime importance IF we are indeed going to meet Jesus; not simply hear about Him second hand. WHY? Because dear friends Galilee is HOME for Jesus in the time of His Visitation and The Time and place of God’s choosing today, In His CC. It is symbolic of seeking Christ, where Christ can be found. One of the reasons so many find it difficult to “connect with Christ, where, and HOW God desires,” is they are not looking either in the RIGHT place or in the RIGHT manner that Christ desires to be found. Faith is after all a PURE Gift from God.

For those of us abundantly Blessed and holding this knowledge, the solution may seem simplistic? Were is JESUS TODAY? He’s in His Catholic Church…. So Go There to find Him! Glorified Body; Blood, Soul, Divinity and BOTH His Divine and Human natures gloriously veiled in His Humanity. Ever true God and ever true man.

The evidence of this TRUTH seems to be in NEON LIGHTS to us catholics, so what can’t everyone read the handwriting on the wall, so to speak?…. Maybe it’s because they are there in the wrong neighborhood?

Rom.9: 18 “What then are we to say? Is there injustice on the part of God? Of course not! For he says to Moses: “I will show mercy to whom I will, I will take pity on whom I will.” So it depends not upon a person’s will or exertion, but upon God, who shows mercy. “

Rom. 9:15 “For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

Mt. 11: 25-26 “At that time Jesus declared, “I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; [BABES? Yes BUT WITH HUMILITY AND FAITH] yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will. All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Heb. 3 12 “Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we share in Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end, while it is said, “Today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Isaiah 63:15 “Look down from heaven and see, from thy holy and glorious habitation. Where are thy zeal and thy might? The yearning of thy heart and thy compassion are withheld from me. For thou art our Father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not acknowledge us; thou, O LORD, art our Father, our Redeemer from of old is thy name. O LORD, why dost thou make us err from thy ways and harden our heart, so that we fear thee not? Return for the sake of thy servants, the tribes of thy heritage… We have become like those over whom thou hast never ruled, like those who are not called by thy name. “

Media technology has I suspect numbed us and dummied us. Folks are not as accustomed to thinking for themselves as the world was even fifty years ago. On the other hand we have all been suckered at some time, in some way by advertising and are skeptical of what we are “being sold. And told“. Even though the degree of gullibility I witness on CAF can be amazing.

Quite possibly the source of information has become more relevant; than the information itself. Once we find someone to “trust.” Well, we let them do the heavy lifting and we coast along. In the Good old American way. [let someone else do it mentality….THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO THOSE LIKE YOU COMMITTED TO LEARNING OUR FAITH: SEE ROMANS 10:17… PJM ] So searching for TRUTH ourselves has been replaced at times, by someone we think [and hope], is truthful. And they may well be? Good and proper Catechesis is a rare thing in current times. And in the Protestant communities, it seems even more scarce. Computers have replaced calculators that did our thinking for us. Logic is becoming as rare as “hen’s teeth.” [Ya, I’m an OLD Farm boy.]

It’s amazing what happens, both for good, and for not-so-good, when humanity takes it upon themselves because they REALLY think that they DO know more or know better than anyone before them. Pride is a scary and powerful force to contend with. Science requires skeptics, BUT Faith not so much, RELIES ON Hope driven by Love..

The evidence for BUT ONE CHURCH, Faith and Covenant seems overwhelming, so why then are their MANY THOUSANDS of “christian churches, sects, and differing set’s of faith-beliefs? Why are so many in serious danger of not hearing Christ; Not really knowing God, or where to find Him, and yet retain great inner-confidence of there positions? Are their souls in danger? Quite likely. But ONLY God can know for sure.

All souls, believers, those who think they are believers and even unbelievers are at risk until we prove ourselves by dying without unconfessed and unremited Mortal Sin. Until the instant of death, Hope remains, as does God’s offer of Grace, Pardon and Forgiveness. But does Hope supplant Faith?

AGAPE Bible study “Esau son of Isaac despised his inheritance and counted it as worth nothing more than a bowl of lentil stew while his younger brother, Jacob” http://www.AgapeBibleStudy.com

“Writing about the difference between the brothers [Esau and Jacob] as a metaphor for differences between professing Christians, St. Augustine wrote: …the reason why the elder son is called Esau is that no one becomes spiritual without first having been “of the flesh” or materialistic. But if they persist in “the mind of the flesh,” they will always be Esau. If, however, they become spiritual, they will then be the younger son. But then the junior will be the senior; the other takes precedence in time, this one in virtue. [..]. He [Esau] sold his right as firstborn to his younger brother. He went off with a temporary satisfaction; the other went off with a permanent honor. So those in the Church who are slaves to temporary pleasures and satisfaction eat lentils’ lentils that Jacob certainly cooked but that Jacob did not eat. [..]. Now apply this. You have a Christian people. But among this Christian people it is the ones who belong to Jacob that have the birthright or right of the firstborn. Those, however, who are materialistic in life, materialistic in faith, materialistic in hope, materialistic in love, still belong to the old covenant, not yet to the new. They still share the lot of Esau, not yet in the blessing of Jacob (Augustine, Sermon 4.12; quoted from Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture, vol. I, page 151).” End Agape Quote

As I read this I found myself asking what is it’s relevance to today’s Christians? The answer is simple but profound. So many of us not only “want it now,” BUT insist also on having it “our-way” as we are so accustomed to choice and a variety of options, that when a vital [but limited] choice comes before us; and it’s form is Mandates; Commands and Commandments; well, we just say “thanks; but NO-THANKS!’ Most never give it another thought. Don’t even attempt to apply logic.

IF WE ARE REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT where we will spend our AFTER LIFE; THEN WE MUST FIND JESUS WHERE JESUS WANTS TO BE FOUND. DON’T BUY INTO THE TALE THAT HE IS EVERYWHERE… INDEED GOD IS; BUT SALVATION IS NOT! Their lies before us a simple choice… either God is in charge or I can take charge. There is NO sharing of the responsibility. One can learn what the Bible actually Teaches through the CC , as desired by God; or go on pretending to know more and know better. Who’s in charge my friends? You or YOUR-GOD?

In seeking Christ, go where he is; Galilee! And today’s Galilee is Christ Catholic Church: Matt 16:15-19; John 20:16-23; Eph. 4:4-8, John 17:14-19,* and many, many more evidences exist as Road signs. But friends you have follow the signs and do not pretend that they don’t exist. TWO-THOUSAND years of continuous service, proven by a list of Popes and consecutive service. Do YOU WANT TO FIND JESUS? Go to Galilee, my friend.

May God Continue to Bless, Guide, and Guard you,

Love and prayers,

Pat
